A brief history The Sound Post was founded in London in 1993 by the late Stephen Jocelyn, a professional cellist, who wanted to improve the quality of student instruments available in the UK. The Primavera range was introduced in 1995 and revolutionised the student violin market, by introducing for the first time styrofoam cases and tailpieces with integral adjusters as part of the outfit as well as a much improved quality of workmanship in the student violin. The Primavera (P200) was chosen as the Best Bowed instrument of 2005 at the MIA Awards and this achievement has been followed up with the Best Medium Sized Supplier Award 2007.
